How this calculator works

Payback is the advance times the factor rate. Everything else follows from how fast you pay it.
  • Total payback = advance × factor rate. A $50,000 advance at 1.35 buys $67,500 of your future receipts.
  • Cost of funds = payback − advance + fees. Fees taken from the advance cost you twice: you pay them and you receive less.
  • Payment = payback ÷ number of debits. Daily debits count business days, 21 a month.
  • Estimated APR is the annual rate that makes your debits worth exactly what you received after fees. It rises as the term shortens, even when the factor rate stays the same.
Fixed debits vs a true holdback. A true merchant cash advance should let payments fall when sales fall, through reconciliation. If your offer uses a percentage of card sales, use the holdback calculator instead.
